The end of Amos 9:13 “… and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.” is featured at the end of the first verse of the song. The idea of the Hebrew word translated as “drop” (H5197 NATAF נָטַף) is to distil or to ooze out. The tav (a picture of a basket or empty vessel, like a jar of clay!!!) and the pey/fey (TAF/TAP), according to Gesenius is onomatopoetic, almost like the sound of a constant drip (taff…taff…taff). It brings to mind this picture of the abundance and produce of adamah pushing forth through the stony substance of the mountain, it cannot be contained. The hills, which would form a natural dam to hold in this new dripping, they melt (moowg H4127 מוּג) flow down as they are “changed” into the very thing they normally would hold back. It's almost an idea of “no ressevior living”. No need for reserves because it is ubiquitous.
I summed it up and combined it with a lesson taught by Meshiach when I stated it this way in the song:
"And new wine burst forth from the top of every mountain
Bottled in the “new skins” of Israel redeemed"
If the mountains and the hills cannot hold back this Ruach growth and abundance, what can?
[Mat 9:16-17 NLT] 16 "Besides, who would patch old clothing with new cloth? For the new patch would shrink and rip away from the old cloth, leaving an even bigger tear than before. 17 "And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the old skins would burst from the pressure, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine is stored in new wineskins so that both are preserved."
The old impenetrable stony mountain nature and the surrounding foothills we have taken refuge in and built our reservoirs with; are not fit for the new life we have in the Ruach Ha Qodesh. We must live in the redeemed man, the one bought by Yeshua at a price. The one now alive unto the righteousness of YHWH, being rebuilt and repaired as he raises the Fallen Sukkah of David. We have to not only receive the Ruach in new life, but we must change with the leading of the Ruach as witnessed to in YHWH's instruction. YHWH's word will not disagree with YHWH's spirit, he is echad (unified). The preservation of both the skin and the wine (us and the Spirit) is that we would walk in newness of abundant life, not as before or as the culture around us, but in obedient faith to the word of YHWH for the glory of Messiah Yeshua! Not worrying about holding back or keeping reserves but everything in service to each other, NOW!
Shalom,
Pastor Mike
